Q: How much exercise do I need I’m 41 need to lose weight and am so lost at the moment don’t know where to start? What can I do. Thanks L

Thanks for your question. We should include 30 minutes of exercise as part of our daily routine. Many people find it hard to exercise regularly, so try to increase your incidental activity. Incidental activity is the day-to-day exercise we can do when we are carrying out our daily schedules. By this, I mean park further away from work, school, and the shops and walk the last few 100 meters. Walk to the shops for bread and milk instead of jumping in the car. Walk the children to school or play dates; this extra bit of activity will be good for the whole family.
Regular exercise as a part of a healthy diet will get you on the road to weight loss. If you are finding it hard to know where to begin I would suggest you get some one to one advice with an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD). Good Luck L,
